Description

Name: Camelia Shanaser
Job Title: Quartermaster and Tactitian
Species: Shiny Furfrou
Gender: Female
Age: 54
Race: Unknown, though it is assumed that she is Gunjynh
Characteristic: Thuroughly Cunning
Nature: Careful

Personality: Known for her leveled-headedness in almost any situation, Camelia is a calm, calculating individual who is never afraid to be blunt with anyone, reguardless of status. Quick both on her feet and in her calculations, she is able to easily adapt to the changes that happen in combat, making her a dangerous foe in personal combat and during fleet engagements, earning her a reputation and making "Black Widow" just as famous as her husband, Bahadur. Out of combat, she remains harshly blunt and observant, but she can be a very kind individual. Just be careful if you are a merchant, though, for not only is she good in making calculations in combat, but when it comes to haggling, she is a force to be rekoned with!

:new:History:new:Camelia allows for rumors to spread about her upbringing, but she keeps the true story between her and her husband, Bahadur.

Camelia's true story began in the Khariid Quarter of Heliopolis, Gunjynh's capital city. There, she was born into one of the royal families along with her younger sister, Roksana, who was also a Furfrou, but unlike Camelia, she was not born as a shiny Pokemon. This fact, along with the fact that she was the second child to be born, she would eventually grow to envy her sister. Though she was not the only one who did not want to see Camelia take the throne.

After the previous sultan had died (more than likely he was assassinated by a mercenary hired by one of his political enemies), the kingdom of Gunjynh experienced a power struggle like never before, with each of the royal families vying for the position of Sultan of Gunjynh. Anyone who was a threat to their goal was removed as soon as possible, regardless if their opposition was their own family or not. Camelia's younger sister was no exception. Encouraged by a group of high ranking officials led by Camelia's uncle who hated that Camelia was being groomed to lead the nation based on her mother's ideals and not her father's, Roksana plotted the removal of her own sister to claim the throne for herself, and in return, the officials that helped her with this plot would become her royal advisers and receive a rather large bonus for their loyalty. Quickly, the plan went into motion: the conspirators were able to stage a fake kidnapping of Roksana and sent a ransom note to Camelia's mother, demanding that she completely get rid of any chance that Camelia would take the throne using any means necessary. Not wanting any of her beautiful daughters to be hurt, the mother chose the lesser of two evils and sold her daughter into slavery in order to make sure that both of her children were safe. The conspirators' plan worked perfectly, and shortly afterwards, Roksana was chosen to become the Queen of Gunjynh once she had came of age. Camelia's uncle and father -- who died shortly after the plot succeeded -- were positive that the older daughter would never be seen again, yet continued to fill Roksana's mind with lies about her sister, stating that she would have abandoned her once she became Queen, and possibly have her exiled, and so on. The younger Furfrou soon grew to hate her sister, whether she was alive or not.

However, Camelia was definitely alive, thanks to the laws that governed the treatment of slaves. She was eventually taken north along the Tigris River to the large city of Sershetan Maha where she was put to work as a house slave at the house of the wealthy Shanaser family. There, she met the family's son, and eventual heir of their business, Bahadur Shanaser. The two became fast friends, and during their early teenager years, their friendship started to blossom into something more, much to Bahadur's parent's disgust. They started to plan on sending her away from Sershetan Maha to keep her away from their son, but Bahadur found out about this plan and attempted to run away with Camelia. They were quickly caught, and Camelia was sent away to a town far away from Bahadur. At age twenty-two, Camelia finally bought her freedom, and she traveled back to Sershetan Maha, only to find out that the Buizel she had met there so many years ago had joined the Gunjynh Navy. Saddened, she traveled back to her hometown of Heliopolis.

Upon reaching the city, she found out that her mother was no longer alive; she was told that she had became extremely sad that she had to send Camelia away, and shortly afterwards she became ill. Even though the doctors did everything they could to keep her well, the poor mother's sadness made her illness all the more worse, and she simply wasted away. Asah was now the Sultan of Gunjynh, and his queen was none other than Camelia's sister, Roksana. Camelia attempted to visit her long lost sister, but she was turned away at the gates and told to never return. As soon as Roksana received word of her sister's return, she had the guards throw Camelia out of the city and forbade her to ever set foot in Heliopolis. Now without a home, Camelia went on to other towns in Gunjynh, studying the ways of warfare, reading up on famous tacticians and battle strategies, and learning how to wield a blade.

Her troubles did not stop there, however, for Camelia's uncle, who had started the plan in the first place, convinced Roksana that as long as Camelia remained in Gunjynh that her position as queen would always be in jeopardy. Fearing that her power may be taken from her at any moment, the sister secretly hired mercenaries and assassins, and even went as far as to place a bounty on Camelia's head just to ensure that her position as Queen of Gunjynh was secure.

However, Roksana had gravely underestimated her sister's strength. One by one, Camelia took out every assailant that had attacked her. Using the strategies and techniques that she learned, as well as her natural ability, the Furfrou made short work of all her opponents, earning her the alias "The Black Widow" due primarily to the fact that most of her foes were males.

Several years and duel victories later, Camelia returned to Sershetan Maha and found that Bahadur -- now a ship captain -- had returned from his tour of duty in the Artiphronian-Gunjynh War. Bahadur approached her and, captivated by her beauty, asked her to go out with him that night, but Camelia only replied by drawing her sword, stating that if he was able to beat her in a duel, then she would consider the offer. The Floatzel obliged, and the two commenced fighting. Fighting until exhausted, the two combatants realized that they were both equally matched, and that was the moment that she decided that he would be her husband. The two married when Camelia was twenty-nine, and as soon as Bahadur decided that he was going to leave Gunjynh and work as a mercenary, his wife immediately declared that she was going with him. She said that it was to "make sure that the moron didn't get himself killed," but in reality, she wanted to get as far away from Gunjynh, Heliopolis, and her sister as physically possible. Assisting Bahadur in handpicking the other members of their crew (and eventually their fleet), Camelia and Bahadur unfurled their sails and left the nation of sand behind.

Camelia now works as Bahadur's tactician and quartermaster onboard the Red Monsoon, and is second-in-command of the mercenary fleet.
